Why I Only Use Clean Beauty Ingredients in My Studio

When I started looking into the ingredients in the products I was using on clients, I couldn't unsee it.
Synthetic fragrances that disrupt hormones. Preservatives linked to skin sensitization. Fillers that do nothing for the skin and everything for shelf life. These weren't niche concerns. They were standard ingredients in products I'd been trained to use.
So I stopped using them.
That decision was the foundation of Wax N' Blush. I wanted to build the kind of clean beauty studio Long Beach didn't have yet. Not the location, not the aesthetic. The ingredients.
What clean actually means here
Clean beauty is an overused term. Brands slap it on packaging without it meaning much. At Wax N' Blush, it means every product in this studio has been personally researched by me. I've read the ingredient labels. I've tested them on my own skin. I've vetted the brands for sourcing and manufacturing practices.
The brands I carry, Botnia, Apoterra, Rituel de Filles, among others, share that same commitment. Botnia grows their botanicals on their own microfarm. Apoterra uses wildcrafted and certified organic ingredients. These aren't marketing claims. They're practices I looked into before I put anything on a client's skin.
Why it matters for your skin
Your skin absorbs what you put on it. That's the whole point of a facial. Your skin barrier is temporarily more receptive after treatment, which is why the products used immediately after matter so much. Using something full of synthetic additives in that window isn't just unhelpful. It works against the treatment.
Clean ingredients mean the products are actually doing what they're supposed to do. Nothing else.
What this means when you visit
Nothing in this studio is here by accident. Every product, every brand, every formula was a deliberate choice. When I recommend something for your skin at home, it's because I've used it, researched it, and believe it will genuinely help you.
That's the standard I hold this place to. Every single appointment.
